Good Morning from Stage 5 of the UAE Tour

The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority Stage features 170km of riding from Al Marjan Island to Umm al Quwain and is expected to end in a bunch sprint.

Al Marjan Island (Ras Al Khaimah), 24 February 2023 – Good morning from Stage 5 of the 2023 UAE Tour, organised by Abu Dhabi Sports Council and taking place from 20-26 February – the one and only UCI WorldTour race in the Middle East. The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority Stage features 170km of riding from Al Marjan Island to Umm al Quwain and is expected to end in a bunch sprint. So for a second day in a row, expect to see the fastest finishers battling it out for the stage victory.

The peloton, 136 riders strong, passed km 0 at 12.35. Bib number 111 – Jakob Fuglsang (Israel – Premier Tech) – was the only non-starter.

THE ROUTE
Stage 5: Al Marjan Island – Umm al Quwain (170 KM)

Departing from Marjan Island to reach Ras al Khaimah, the stage heads south through the desert with various sections both on and off the motorway before the race reaches Umm al Quwain for the final sprint. The entire route takes place on wide, straight and well-paved roads through the desert, but crosswinds could potentially be a factor in the stage.

Last kms
The final km is on a slightly curved, wide avenue.
